Learn more about the EU actions in the field of Healthcare and the ageing challenge
Having identified active and healthy ageing as a major societal challenge as well as economic opportunities, the European Commission has launched the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. The overarching target of this pilot partnership is to increase the average healthy lifespan by two years by 2020, pursuing the three main objectives of enabling EU citizens to live healthy, active and independent while ageing; improving the efficiency of health care systems; and of turning the ageing challenge into new business opportunities.
