Going International

The Enterprise Europe Network is a key instrument in the EU’s strategy to boost competitiveness and growth of the European companies and also the creation of jobs. Its mission is to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make the most of the business opportunities in the EU Single Market through its local member organisations.

As a member of this network, Enterprise Europe Brussels provides support to local businesses in the Brussels-Capital Region.

One of its key roles is to help Brussels-based companies, research centres and universities define their business and internationalisation strategy and boost their development beyond Belgian borders.

Partnership collaborations with foreign companies often allow companies to expand into new markets and to take advantage of niche opportunities, but this can often be a drawn-out expensive process.

To facilitate this process, Enterprise Europe Brussels offers a wide range of free services and products.

The Partnership Opportunities Database contains thousands of company profiles looking for business, innovation or research partners.

You can make a search by country of origin of the profile, or by country targeted by the profile creator for partnering opportunities  or by keywords of activity. Enterprise Europe Brussels will send you the contact details of the company that interest you for potential partnership.

International matchmaking events across Europe offer the opportunity to meet potential partners in person.

These events gather together from several countries stakeholders (universities, R&D centers, industries, SMEs etc) that all have an interest in finding business, R&D or technological partners. Concretely, matchmaking events consist in pre-arranged bilateral meetings, face-to-face discussions of 30 minutes between participants. Meetings are freely chosen by the participating companies according to their needs and strategic development.

Enterprise Europe Network matchmaking event are generally held at the occasion of relevant fairs or conferences in a given industry sector or region, allowing companies to maximize their investment in time and money.

Enterprise Europe Brussels’ experts offer customized support to companies willing to participate in matchmaking event by preparing and supporting them before the event, on the spot during the event and afterwards till the signature of a collaboration agreement between the Brussels-based participant and foreign partners.
 
 
A company mission consists of a visit to a focus country with a group of companies. The program includes company meetings and visits, organised by the network’s local partner.

Company missions (going abroad or welcoming a small number of foreign companies) organized by Enterprise Europe Brussels in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network are based on a customized approach and profiling aimed at paving the basis of future collaborations even before meeting the foreign company.

 - Watching service: we make a daily selection of the tenders which correspond to your interest and send you these tenders in real time by e-mail

    This service offers unique access to business, technical opportunities and partner searches for EU R&I consortia using the network's expertise and Europe's biggest database of cutting-edge technologies and business opportunities.

    You can make a search by country of origin of the profile, or by country targeted by the profile creator for partnering opportunities or by keywords of activity. Enterprise Europe Brussels will send you the contact details of the company that interest you for potential partnership.
    Make you own customized opportunities alert
    The database gives also the opportunity to make your own customized opportunities alert to receive the most relevant profiles to your sector. Using keywords, you will receive an alert about partnership opportunities with European companies that are seeking Brussels-based partners for business and technological co-operation.
    You have also the opportunity to enter your own cooperation profile/cooperation proposal (offer or request) in the database by raising your company’s business, technological or research profile and offer/request for cooperation. Enterprise Europe Brussels’ experts will help you draw up a company profile as well as a profile of your ideal partner and then disseminate it through the database in the network, over 54 countries. Profiles are anonymous to protect you from competitors. We will inform you on each expression of interest from foreign companies for your profile. Then you will have the opportunity to contact directly the interested companies to initiate cooperation.

    You can also subscribe to the Enterprise Europe Brussels e-mail alert service to receive the most relevant profiles to your sector.
    Using keywords Enterprise Europe Brussels will send you an alert (daily or weekly) about partnership opportunities with European companies and research centers that are seeking Brussels-based partners for business,technological and R&DI co-operation.

Our methodology in a nutshell...
 
Our method is founded on a long-term relationship between the company’s representative and the Enterprise Europe Brussels' expert. This is the only way for him or her to gain a better understanding of the company’s strengths and specific needs.
That is why an Enterprise Europe Brussels expert visits the company and assesses its experience, capacity and motivation to move forward in the partnership process. The expert conducts an international check and/or a technical audit, in consultation with the company.
Depending on the company's (explicit and implicit) needs and strategy and the outcome of this assessment, a joint action plan is then drawn up based on our customised services.
