The European Innovation Council (EIC) will offer €2bn for the financing of disruptive, market-creating innovation in its pilot action between 2019 and 2020. Experts from the European Commission will introduce the European Innovation Council (EIC) to interested stakeholders  in Belgium. A panel will discuss on the policy, followed by an information session on the novelties in the revised work programme 2019-2020. After introducing the rationale behind the Enhanced EIC Pilot in Horizon 2020, DG RTD will explain practical elements in the implementation, the novelties of the Enhanced EIC Pilot as well as details on upcoming calls. The full-fledged EIC is expected to begin its activities under Horizon Europe (2021-2027) with a proposed budget of €10bn.

The EIC Pathfinder Pilot comprises FET-Open and FET-Proactive and offers grants of up to €4 million to promote collaborative, inter-disciplinary research and innovation on science-inspired and radically new future technologies.

The EIC Accelerator Pilot builds on the SME Instrument Phase II and provides grant-only support as well as support in the form of blended finance (combining grant and equity).
