The Joint Undertaking Shift2Rail has launched its Call for Proposals on the past 7th of January. Within the framework of the S2R Annual Work Plan 2020, projects worth 146.6 million EUR will be funded. Deadline for proposal submission is 21st April 2020.

This new Call is an opportunity for the rail sector to contribute to deliver the European Green Deal, but not only, mobility companies will find their own space within the IP4 topic: Supporting the implementation of the IP4 ecosystem.

The main objectives of the Calls for 2020 are, as stated by Carlo M Borghini, Executive Director of the Shift2Rail JU, to take their innovative solutions to the next level, demonstrating their potential at large during InnoTrans 2020 this September. He continued “Our goal is to move beyond Research and Innovation to ensure market uptake of our forward-looking solutions, and to contribute substantially in meeting the expectations highlighted for rail in the European Commission’s Communication on “The European Green Deal”. We are looking for promising ideas that will help us pave the way for our next R&I programme”.

More information and the full details of the Call for Proposals 2020 can be found at the S2R website and the Funding and Tenders portal.

For specific questions on the Call, you can write to info-call@s2r.europa.eu. Deadline for submitting questions is 7 April 2020.
