The Commission is currently running an open public consultation on instant payments.

SMEs play an important part in fostering the provision and use of instant payments.

They can be:

  • users of instant payments (e.g. bank customers, online retailers, owners of physical stores) or
  • providers of instant payments (e.g. payment service providers and providers of related technical services) of instant payments.

The consultation is open till 23 June 2021.
