On 17 June 2021 more than 300 companies, research institutes, European organizations as well as local, public authorities and city representatives from 26 countries met online to find new business and research cooperation opportunities.

The brokerage event ,organized by Enterprise Europe Network Brussels ,focused on topics such as:

ICT for cities, smart mobility and logistics, energy-efficiency of buildings and districts, circular economy and nature based solutions for urban districts and smart, healthy and secure living.

Throughout the day participants could meet during short on-line meetings. Eight enterprises from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy and Sweden were also selected to pitch their innovative project. They presented a variety of innovative smart city solutions and technologies to a panel of European investors. Idea’s included: an algorithm enabling intermodal route recommendations, a transport packaging for thermo sensitive goods, an energy tracking tool, a smart waste collection system and several intelligent data infrastructure management systems,

During the lunch break NCP Brussels informed participants about funding opportunities within the Horizon Europe Programme. Mr. Alfredo Corbalan of the Brussels Planning Agency, introduced the New European Bauhaus initiative, a co-creative platform that supports the European Green Deal objectives to make our living space a beautiful, sustainable and inclusive environment.

In addition Enterprise Europe Brussels  hosted  3 thematic webinars showcasing inspiring examples and business cases, from the circular economy, digital and mobility sector. Several opportunities and challenges that cities are facing in their transition to become climate-neutral, sustainable ecosystems were highlighted.
