In Innovation

On December 1st The European Commission has launched a call for projects from the Innovation Fund for “small projects” between 2.5 and 7.5 million euros.

This call is restricted to highly innovative projects with a large impact or replication potential in the fields of renewable energy, carbon capture, energy intensive industries (for industries covered by the ETS, this also includes substitutes) and energy storage.

Beneficiaries will benefit from a grant (covering 60% of the costs and partly conditional on a CO2 reduction assessment) or assistance from the European Investment Bank to help them find investors. Applicants can benefit from simplified one-stage application and selection procedures AND there is no need to look for partners.

The deadline for submitting a project is 10 March 2021. More information can be found here as well as the recordings of the webinar that was held on 9 December 2020.
