Late payments are an issue for many SMEs and promoting a responsible payment culture in the EU is a key element of the European Commission’s policies for improving the business environment.

The EU Commission is therefore launching an SME panel consultation which will provide support for a ‘Study on Building a responsible payment culture in the EU: Improving the effectiveness of the Late Payment Directive (2011/7/EU)’. This study launched by the European Commission – DG GROW,  is intended to identify measures to prevent late payments and to mitigate their effects.

The end date for this consultation is:  15 October 2021
