A new SME panel on the adoption of sustainable technologies and solutions by SMEs for the Industrial Technologies Roadmap, under the lead of DG Research and Innovation (DG RTD) is launched.

Decarbonisation and circularity are essential for the European Green Deal, and companies involvement in developing, uptaking and using new technologies is needed in order to achieve the objective of EU’s Climate Law. In order to better understand the challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe face when dealing with greening their operations, SMEs are invited to fill in this short survey. The questions aim to collect information on the type of technologies that companies develop/purchase/use, on the barriers companies encounter and on companies’ perspective regarding support tools for adopting new, green technologies.

The results of this survey will be processed by the European Commission (DG Research and innovation) and will be included in the upcoming Common Industrial Technologies Roadmaps on low-carbon technologies and on circular technologies. The two roadmaps aim to better link research and innovation to the market, for a faster roll-out of new technologies and more synergies between research and industry.

The survey is open until 15 January 2021.
