Out of the market consultation carried out at the end of 2020, almost 80% of the answers indicated their intention of answering in a consortium and the need of a matchmaking event to look for partners.

Therefore, in order to help SMEs to grasp this pre-procurement opportunity, hub.brussels – EEN and Agoria are organising  this matchmaking event taking place on Tuesday, 4th May 2021 from 13:00 to 17:00, online.

Find partners to answer public procurement call on big data solutions to facilitate pedestrian mode in the Brussels Capital Region. Registration here.

What is the Muntstroom project?

STIB, CIRB, parking.brussels and Brussels Mobility are joining forces to bring the future into the present and support the pedestrian mode with Big Data solutions. The objective is to develop and test an automated pedestrian monitoring system for the outdoor and indoor counting, positioning, routing and influencing of people flow. The living lab will take place at the very heart of Brussels, the Muntplein (Place de la Monnaie).

This innovative project combines outdoor and indoor monitoring of people flow in one single system. There will be different business models supported for different types of end-users, so a smart data access is foreseen.

The gathered data, which represents the volume of pedestrians or people in an area, has many applications and can be used amongst others to encourage the pedestrian mode, to improve combined mobility, to steer people´s flow, to monitor and evaluate the impact of events, and as an input for emergency response planning.

The project looks for companies or consortiums that can provide a complete solution to the question above.

The foreseen total maximum budget for co-financing the R&D is € 500.000. This budget does not include the public procurement of the to be developed solution (PPI), as a result of this PCP.
