Some of you already knows it: the European Union institutions do rely on external appointed experts to help in the evaluation of grant applications, projects and tenders, or to provide opinions and advice in specific cases.

These experts are selected on the basis of their expertise against the evalutaion required.

In order to select experts, the European Union Institutions publish regularly calls for expression of interest which in general open at the beginning of a programming period. These calls for expression of interest detail the selection criteria, the required expertise, the description of the tasks, their duration and the conditions of remuneration. They will enter a dedicated database from where the institutions will select the experts.

Since January 1st, 2021, we entered a new programming period (2021-2027). The new call for expression of interest for experts for this new programming period will be published shortly.
