The Single Digital Gateway aims to digitise public administration, a key measure to strengthen the EU’s competitiveness and create a level playing field in the Single Market.
Through the ‘Your Europe’ web portal, the Single Digital Gateway is a cross-sectoral one-stop shop that provides businesses with:
• Reliable and up-to-date information on rules and procedures within the Single Market at all levels of public administration;
• Direct, centralised and guided access to assistance and problem-solving services;
• Direct access to a wide range of fully digitised administrative procedures, for which the ‘once and for all’ technical system allows automated exchange of evidence between authorities across the EU (e.g. companies only have to communicate the same information to public authorities once);
• Tools for collecting opinions on the quality of services and obstacles to the single market.
The Single Digital Gateway aims to improve the European business environment by simplifying red tape and helping businesses, including SMEs, to better understand and use their rights and the opportunities offered by the Single Market.
The results of this questionnaire will be evaluated by the European Commission, with the objectives of improving the functioning of the Single Digital Gateway and contributing to the realisation of its full potential and, in particular, to enable SMEs to take full advantage of the Single Market.
